Garden Party Pictures!

I am excited to present the pictures from the garden party I decorated with a friend a few weeks ago!

I am also excited to tell you that each of us only spent $20.00 each on supplies.  I think that the decorations look not meager, but casual enough to set the tone without overwhelming the guests.

One of our beautiful hosts.

The vignette is set.  We used rugs from our various houses, a bed sheet and some burlap sacks that the owner of the house had lying around.  The antique window and sawhorse also came with the property.  Apparently, someone's mother had come over to the visit the house.  She saw the window leaning against the shed in the background, which belongs to the neighbor.  She promptly went over to the neighbor to ask for the window.  He consented, and months later, here we have the candlelit backdrop for our feast!

With a few guests...

And a few more!

Mason jars, $0.49 at Salvation Army.  Twine and galvanized wire from Home Depot.  Tea lights from Dollarama.

The shed provided a beautiful backdrop for a few portraits.

And now for a few vertical shots:

Here are a few floating phrases I remember from descriptions of the food: cheddar and cracked pepper bites, smoked salmon, cucumber sandwiches, pigs in a blanket with local sausages flavored with thyme and blueberries.  Bruschetta with tomatoes soaked in white wine.  Punch with sorbet!  Thanks to the owner of the home/our host for this delicious food!

Baby's breath is the most delicate, unassuming little flower... perfect for a casual party with friends.
