1950's Wardrobe

You know those days when you feel like you have nothing to wear?  I was having one of those days when I thought, prove it.  And these outfits are what I found!

I really like a 1950's silhouette.  I find that with a small torso, and "sturdy" legs, this shape really flatters my proportions.  Also, I didn't realize I had so many berry tones in my wardrobe.

You will notice that I use a few staple accessories over and over.  This is the advantage of finding a palette that suits you and expanding on those colors: your accessories will often flatter your outfits!  Of course, I did this unintentionally, but, ya know, good advice.

Instead of feeling poor, now I feel lucky!

So.  Sweater, skirt and bag thrifted.  Pearls from the Bay, shoes from Aldo.  Glasses from clearlycontacts.ca.

Dress from American Apparel.  Shoes thrifted- they're actually my wedding shoes!

Dress thrifted- I even altered it a bit by re-hemming the sides an inch in from where they were originally.  Necklace from Forever 21, bag purchased by my husband from a street festival!  Pretty good, huh?

Since this dress has a bold pattern, I decided to pare down on accessories.  I tried on a few belts, but eventually decided that simple was better.

Dress from Urban Planet.  This was a recent outfit I wore to a summer wedding.
