Carrying around the Popcorn

I am starting to think about the accessories for our upcoming outdoor movie night.  We need carry-able, non-tipping, recyclable containers for holding our treats during the movie.  I would like to do something other than plates.  If everyone is going to be lying on the ground and watching a movie in the dark, I don't want to use plates, because they have a large horizontal surface area and mean that people may be putting their feet in other people's treats.

To serve my purposes, I found this idea from ohhappyday.com:

However, I cannot find paper in Winnipeg that is thick enough not to rip on the handles of the baskets, and in big enough rolls to be easy on my wallet.  It probably exists somewhere, but I'm not interested in using up valuable time and energy looking for paper to make a craft that will already be time-consuming to complete.

Therefore, I am changing my tack.  I am going to use brown paper bags.  People use these all the time.  I think that the simplest ideas are the best ones.  Ie. post-it notes, mason jars as vases, and apple cutters.

Here are some simple, stylish ways to dress up a paper bag so that it can feel like it belongs at a party.
