A Good Dose of Girly

So, Dahlias!  I didn't know.  Martha Stewart knew, though, that Dahlias are the shit.  As a person who has only recently become attracted to flowers (probably a nesting urge), I have recently discovered this flower.  It's the perfect mix of geometric shape, spiky attitude and "girliness," depending on the shade.

Martha loves these flowers so much that she (or more likely, one of her minions) has designed a tutorial on how to make them out of fabric!

Dahlias are very popular in wedding arrangements, but can also be used in casual table settings.  I favor the "cool flower in a mason jar, shot in filtered colors" approach.
