Children's Activity Area

I just designed this little area for the back of the sanctuary at my church.  Little babies can come and hang out on the carpet with their parents, children can come and grab a few toys or a clipboard, paper and pencil crayons, and there are a few sturdy chairs for older adults to come and spend time with the children as well.

The toys I threw in there are as follows:

- Pencil crayons and crayons in individual cases for ease of use;
- books for varying ages, some religious, some not;
- clipboards already equipped with paper for easy access;
- a few baby toys in case parents didn't bring very many;
- a few farm animals, little people and a silo;
- a few cars;
- some Lego; and
- a few soft puppets in lieu of stuffed animals.

There are only a few toys in each bin so that no huge messes can be made, and the guidelines I will see out for parents are that their child can go and grab a few things before settling down in their chairs for the service.  The carpet area is for before the service and for babies.

I got the baskets and the artwork from Target and the carpet from Ikea (it is grippy on the bottom).  I made the little flower pouf and the pillows were covered by members of the church, which is why they are all so unique!  A friend of mine gave me the two shelves, and all of the toys and books were already in the church.

Cool, huh?
