Christmas, and planning for the future

My husband and I had a great time organizing Christmas get-togethers with friends, and attending ones with family this year.  We loved shopping, and making presents for everyone on our lists.  We also found that opening our wallets for our friends and family (usually it's just family, mostly) felt great.

This made me think: we're going to be kick-ass parents- at least at Christmas time.

We're both excited about the idea, but we're thinking carefully about when the right time to do would be.  But every now and again, I want the right time to be right now.  So I go online, visit Pinterest, and think about the future.

Wouldn't it be great to raise a kid in an environment that feels like a playroom, a warm home, and a tree house all at the same time (I always wanted to live in a tree house like Robinson Crusoe)?  Here are some photos I found that look like what I want my kids' spaces to look like.

Of course, I'll have to add some toys and storage from Ikea, and classic kid's novels like Little House on the Prairie, Peter Pan, the Hobbit, and Tin Tin.
