Jean Seberg (1938-1979)

Here is a quick post about a lady I would like to emulate, in terms of style and appearance: Jean Seberg.  She first came to my attention when she played the romantic interest in "Breathless," a 1960's film from the French New Wave movement of the late 1950's and 1960's.

This post is a shameless plug for short hair.

Jean looks elegant with long hair, but when she cuts it short, she really begins to carry a distinct personality in her appearance.  She really is a chameleon: one of those women who look completely different when they change their hair and clothes.  For instance:

However, the look I'm really trying to rave about is her pixie cut in "Breathless"!

She looks hip, fresh, energetic and young!  This is the look I crave.  I seem to be attracted to images of women in pixie cuts.  For instance, Audrey, Twiggy, and Edie:

There is something headstrong, slightly masculine, and overt about a pixie cut.  And those with fine features are not drowned out by their hair if they choose this way to frame the face.
