Tea Story

Some friends and I went to a new joint in Osborne Village today called "Tea Story."  It's a mod-looking cafe that sells Bubble Tea and waffles- savory and desert- among other things.  I had a bubble tea- Honey Rose- and a Lemon Cheesecake Waffle.  They were alright, but the Berry Black waffle with Nutella, berries and ice cream would be my choice next time.  Not really that impressed with the food.  Tasted like waffles I could make at home, not sure I think it's worth $6.  I understand it's expensive to run a restaurant, etc. so that's why it costs $6.  They serve their dishes on paper plates with plastic utensils, which I'm sure is heavenly for the servers, but not for the environment (at least in terms of the utensils).

But the look of the place was worth every penny!

I also think it's great that entrepreneurs in Winnipeg feel that the economy here is healthy enough to welcome new growth.  We have a "diverse economy" that helped us to stay afloat during the recession.  I don't have a lot of money riding on anything personally, but I never felt the recession in the U.S. at all.  I was working all throughout.  Go to Economic Development Winnipeg to read more.
